I was told that the chickens will lay an egg every 27 hours, but I do know that if it's bad weather, windy or rainy, or even in the winter, they're not on that schedule.
They definitely, what really motivates chickens to lay eggs, if they find a nest with other eggs in it they'll all lay in that. There's some kind of a competition with them or something.
They'll lay especially if I have a hen that's setting they'll get in there and lay eggs for her that she can sit on them.
I generally take all the eggs because I don't want any baby chicks now. I get too many roosters when I hatch them so I take all the eggs.
That's why they hide their nest. I had somebody had snuck in here through the cat door and just laid an egg.
