Easter Egger™ Bantam

Appearance:

• Feather Color: Easter Egger™ Bantam can come in a wide range of feather colors and patterns, they are very ornamental. Common colorations are black, brown and gold but you may also see white, blue or lavender. Feathers can be solid, or patterns or multi colored. This is part of the charm of the breed.
  
  
• Body Type: Easter Egger Bantams are compact, sturdy and well proportioned. They are much smaller than standard Easter Eggers, weigh 1.5 to 2 pounds (0.7 to 0.9 kg). They are muscular but light, built for agility and have a pretty face. They are small so good for small spaces or backyard.
  
  
• Comb and Wattles: Easter Egger™ Bantams have a pea comb (small compact comb with 3 ridges) or single comb (similar to the common comb but smaller). Comb and wattles are red and contrast beautifully with their colorful feathers.
  
  
• Tail: The tail of the Easter Egger™ Bantam is medium, carried slightly upright. They have a cute fluffy tail.
  
  
• Legs and Toes: Legs are short, clean and yellow, and like most bantams, 3 toes on each foot. Legs are strong but also balanced and proportionate.
  
  

Temperament:

• Friendly and Curious: Easter Egger™ Bantams are friendly, curious and relatively easy going. They are more sociable and interactive than other breeds. They are active but not flighty and will enjoy time with humans and other chickens in the flock.
  
  
• Energetic but Calm: They are energetic and love to explore but Easter Egger™ Bantams are not as hyper as some other breeds. They are lively but also calm and enjoyable to watch and handle.
  
  
• Good with Children: These bantams are good with children due to their friendly and calm nature. They are gentle and enjoy being handled but like all chickens should be handled gently.
  
  
• Social: Easter Egger Bantams are social and enjoy being part of a flock. They get along with other chickens especially if raised together from a young age. They are not overly dominant so good for a mixed flock.
  
  

Egg Laying:

• Colorful Eggs: One of the best features of the Easter Egger™ Bantam is its ability to lay colorful eggs. Unlike most chicken breeds, Easter Eggers can lay eggs in various colors blue, green, and occasionally pink or brown. • Moderate Egg Production: Not as prolific as some other bantam breeds, Easter Egger™ Bantams still lay a decent amount of eggs. 3-4 eggs per week. Not prolific but the colorful eggs make it worth the effort.
