Excelsior nest pads are easy to install, are completely natural and biodegradable.

Excelsior poultry pads are manufactured from Great Lakes aspen excelsior fibers and brown kraft paper.

Excelsior nest pads help to provide cleaner, fresher, better quality and more hatchable eggs. They are economical, easy to place in the laying nests and help in faster egg gathering. The eggs are on top, clean and fresh rather than having to hunt and dig for eggs as with some other products. They also draw moisture from droppings which drop to the paper below, out of the area in which the eggs are laid.

The pleasant aromatics and essential oils in various botanicals are inviting for hens and humans. This blend does not contain artificial scents, colors, or preservatives.

Note: We have since added additional doors below each nesting box as well as to the end panel of the run

A few additional points to consider:

You are sure to love the doors under each nesting box for easy access to the space under the hen house. This allows for easy cleaning and for letting the girls in and out. The run has a door panel and on the runs end panel half the panel is a door. This makes cleaning the run a cinch and helps in free ranging.
