Orpington Lodge Run Extension. IN STOCK!
The Chicken Coop Company
Description
The Orpington Lodge run extension will provide extra space to increase your flock size or just give more room to your current flock. This run extension was specifically designed for our Orpington Lodge, however, it can be fashioned to other coops. When you get this run to attach it to other coops that aren't the Orpington, you'll have to make sure your modifications keep it closed and predator proof. The run is 37.5 inches tall x 31.5 inches wide x 85.5 inches long.
There are two roosting rods included and designed not only for your hens to roost but also to add stability to the run. Instructions walk you through the simple process of assembly (each individual piece is labeled and we pre-drilled holes for you). In addition there is a door in the run that has a bolt latch and two latches with two carabiners. Run Foot print: 31.5 inches x 85.5 inches.
Since they are made of wood and will be outside 24/7, we STRONGLY recommend that you stain, lacquer or paint your coop. The stain applied is a base coat that is not designed to protect your coop long term from the elements. Often in transit parts can get dinged or scratched etc. You may need to touch up your run before staining or painting it! Once set up we recommend anchoring it down, this can be as simple as a stake on each side of the run area.
There are two doors that make cleaning the run a cinch and helps in free ranging.
Ships in one 59 pound box that measures 31x12x39 inches.

As much as we have tried to predator proof our coops, you know your area best and you may want to put wire around your coop, or put pavers. You'll always want to double check hardware and latches to make sure everything is tight and secure. Larger predators like bears you will want to look at installing an electric fence around the perimeter.
