Regular price $ 799.00 Sale

Seamlessly add the walk-in run to your existing run or start new.

The Walk-In Run Extension is the answer to providing extra room for you and your flock. No more bending over or crawling into your run. With a full-panel door on the side and a half-panel door on the end it provides easy access to your flock. This run extension was specifically designed for our Rhode Island Homestead Coop and our Orpington Coop. The run is 74 inches tall x 39.5 inches wide x 101 inches long.

Three roosting rods are included and designed not only for your hens to roost but also to add stability to the run. Instructions walk you through the simple process of assembly (each individual piece is labeled, and we pre-drilled holes for you). In addition, there is a door in the run that has a bolt latch and two latches with two carabiners. The Run Footprint is 39.5 inches x 101.5 inches.

The walk-in run extension has a door panel and on the end panel, half the panel is a door. This makes cleaning the run a cinch and helps in free-ranging.

    Final Suggestions:

Since they are made of wood and will be outside 24/7, we STRONGLY recommend that you stain, lacquer, or paint your run extension. The stain applied is a base coat that is not designed to protect your coop long-term from the elements.  Often in transit parts can get dinged or scratched etc. You may need to touch up your coop before staining or painting it! You can order a quart of Chicken Coop Company original stain from our website and pick it up conveniently at your local Sherwin Williams.

Once set up we recommend anchoring it down, this can be as simple as a stake on each side of the run area. As much as we have tried to predator proof our coops and runs, you know your area best and you may want to install a predator protection kit, or put pavers around the outside. You'll always want to double-check hardware and latches to make sure everything is tight and secure. For larger predators like bears, you will want to look at installing an electric fence around the perimeter.

The walk-in run extension ships in two boxes.
Box 1 is a 62-pound box and measures 39x36x12 inches.
Box 2 is 64-pound box and measures 42x39x10 inches.
